- Faster time-to-market and reduced activation costs; higher
customer service quality
London/Atlanta – June 17, 2003 – US-based United
Telephone Company has gone live with Intec Telecom Systems’
activation platform, Inter-activatE™. Inter-activatE is used
to automatically provision services for United’s new
subscribers and subscriber features, including long distance,
voicemail, caller I.D., call waiting, call forwarding, call return,
etc.
“Intec’s Inter-activatE has improved our customer
relations by allowing us to offer better, faster service to our
clients,” says Herbert Bivens, general manager of United.
“Inter-activatE has streamlined our business processes,
improved our time-to-market for subscriber services and increased
our revenue flow.”
United needed an activation system that could automate its
existing manual processes for provisioning special features and
service orders in its network. Inter-activatE receives service
requests from United’s billing system and activates these
requests in United’s Lucent Class 5E switch. These requests
are automatically processed, and a status response is returned to
the billing system.
“Inter-activatE has increased our activation efficiency to
over 99.8 percent,” says Tommy Welch, information systems
administrator at United. “We are now able to process service
changes in a matter of minutes rather than hours and with decreased
human error. By speeding up our disconnect process, Inter-activatE
allows us to collect more revenue in less time while facilitating
faster restoration of customer’s service. Also,
Inter-activatE will help us reconcile variances between our plant
record system, billing system and switch, which will ensure we have
not provided services that are not being billed.”
“The implementation of Inter-activatE has gone very
smoothly, with United going live after a user acceptance phase of
only 24 hours,” says Fred Brott, Intec’s president and
managing director for North America. “Intec is dedicated to
offering superior customer support. Our customers are very
important to us which is why we incorporate client feedback into
our product roadmaps to help guide future product
development.”
