October 29, 2002 – London, UK: Intec Telecom Systems PLC, a leading worldwide operations support systems (OSS) vendor for fixed, mobile and IP/next-generation networks, is pleased to confirm that the customer for its recently announced contract for its Inter-mediatE™ convergent mediation system is U.S.-based SBC Services, Inc., an affiliate of SBC Communications Inc., one of the world's leading data, voice and Internet service providers. SBC companies serve nearly 60 million access lines, and SBC owns 60 percent of Cingular Wireless, which serves more than 21 million wireless customers and is the second largest wireless company in the United States. SBC had revenues of $45.9 billion in 2001 and was ranked No. 27 on the 2002 Fortune 500 list.
Intec will provide SBC with a market leading carrier-grade convergent mediation solution, Inter-mediatE, to assist SBC in the collection and optimisation of billing data. The announcement represents the largest mediation agreement for Intec in its history, strengthening the company’s market position in the growing North American OSS market.

Inter-mediatE, a real-time data acquisition and mediation system, provides next-generation functionality to carriers, including mobile (3G, CDMA, TDMA, GSM) operators, pure IP, Voice-over-IP and convergent operators, content providers, and all types of fixed line carriers. SBC joins Intec’s growing Inter-mediatE customer list, which includes companies such as Verizon, Hutchison 3G, ITXC, BellSouth and Telstra.
