London – August 13, 2002 - Intec Telecom Systems today announced the opening of its new Center of Excellence in São Paulo, Brazil. The company relocated its Brazilian operations to this larger office space to ease the expansion in support, implementation and sales staff, resulting from its growing business in the Latin American region. The new office will support both InterconnecT™ and Inter-mediatE™, Intec’s market-leading interconnect billing and mediation platforms, as well as Intec’s growing line of revenue assurance solutions and services.
“Intec Telecom Systems is a clear market leader in Brazil,” says Bill Wagner, managing director of Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) operations. “Our ability to offer customers OSS solutions that can generate higher revenues and enable greater operational efficiency has allowed us to expand, even in the present difficult market.”
Intec opened its first Brazilian office in July 2000, establishing a customer base that included many of the country’s leading communications companies such as BCP, Brazil Telecom, Global Telecom, Telesp, TCO and TIM. The new Center will continue Intec’s success in the country, offering greater customer service and expertise. “Part of our commitment to the region includes the purchase of new servers and software for training and support in the region,” adds Wagner. “This office will be responsible for providing training and support in InterconnecT and Inter-mediatE to our customers in South America, and we need the infrastructure that will enable us to provide world-class facilities.”
The office is fully operational and occupies the second floor of the Santos Dumont building in Cequeira Cesar, one block away from Paulista Avenue. To celebrate its expansion, Intec invited clients, partners and journalists to join in an opening reception at the new location. Mike Frayne, Intec’s Executive Chairman, attended the reception as the guest of honor.
