Intec signs global framework deal with Verizon to provide OSS

Multi-million dollar agreement covers InterconnecT billing and related mediation technology, with options for extension to other Intec products.

Atlanta/London - December 4th, 2001 - Intec Telecom Systems has signed an Enterprise Agreement with Verizon, one of the world's largest telecommunications businesses, for billing and related Operations Support Systems (OSS) software technology. The contract is with Verizon Services Group, which is responsible for providing technology to Verizon subsidiaries and affiliates in over 40 countries.

Intec will make available its market-leading InterconnecT carrier-to-carrier billing product, plus its mediation technology, to all Verizon domestic or international subsidiary or affiliate, via the Verizon Services Group. This includes companies in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

The Intec solution allows billing and settlement processing between telecommunication operators for both domestic and international interconnect billing. Intec's OSS software technology allows for operational efficiency and cost benefits for Verizon Interconnect Billing business units. InterconnecT, the worldwide leader by market share in Intercarrier billing, is available in versions to support domestic, international (ITU) and US CABS interconnect billing. This is a unique capability, which allows international companies to deploy a single product suite in all territories.

Intec also offers a global support capability through four Centres of Excellence, in Europe, North America, South America and Asia-Pacific. InterconnecT is supported by Intec's mediation technology, that allows rapid integration of InterconnecT into any telecom environment with minimal impact on other systems. Intec's agreement with Verizon covers InterconnecT, InterconnecT ITU and mediation technology, as well as allowing for extension to other products, particularly Intec's Mediation, Revenue Assurance, Fraud Management and Least Cost Routing solutions.
