- Underlines Intec’s dominance in Italian market for Interconnect solutions
October 2, 2001 - Intec Telecom Systems, a world leader in telecoms Operational Support Systems (“OSS”), has announced that Atlanet, one of Italy’s newest fixed network providers, has gone into production with its core InterconnecT billing product. The solution facilitated the network merger of Telexis and ACEA Telefonica, the telecom companies that joined to create Atlanet in December 2000.
“InterconnecT captures all the traffic information that we need to produce accurate interconnect invoices across all our networks,” says Fabio Falchero, manager of information technology at Altanet. “It is a very powerful tool that can be tailored to meet our expanding requirements, and it has the flexibility to work with data from the interconnect billing systems run by other operators.”
Intec’s product was originally used for inter-carrier billing by Telexis before if became part of Atlanet. Selected on the basis of its reputation as the market
leader, InterconnecT succeeded in providing fast and accurate performance across Telexis’ network. The results convinced Atlanet’s founding companies that Interconnect was the right billing solution to use in their new venture. With the assistance of Intec’s experienced implementation team, Atlanet installed
InterconnecT across its systems in less than four months, enabling the company to produce its first invoice in April 2001.
“I could not operate this business without InterconnecT”, says Fabio Falchero. “My logic of interconnect billing is based around Intec’s proven framework. The solution provided tremendous accuracy for Telexis in the past, so we did not hesitate to use it again.”
Other Italian telecommunications companies using Intec products include Telecom Italia, Infostrada, Planet eCom, and Edisontel.
