  • Seamless archive and restore facility, a new semantic layer, SAP interface and more…

16 February 2000, Woking, England: Intec Telecom Systems, the world leader in inter-carrier interconnect billing solutions, has announced the latest upgrade to its market-leading inter-carrier billing software. InterconnecT Version 6.0.5 supports Oracle 8 and offers a series of enhancements, including the provision of a seamless GUI driven Automated Archive and Restore facility, the ability to allow custom reporting with any chosen SQL reporting tool, and an optional InterconnecT SAP Solution (ISS) which provides a high level of integration between InterconnecT and SAP R/3.

With the powerful Automated Archive and Restore feature of Version 6.0.5, users can now access the archive and restore facility through their main user interface. In addition, it will give them the ability to retrieve high volumes of priced call detail records (CDRs) seamlessly from archive quickly and easily via CDR drill down and via CDR re-pricing. It will allow better planning and allocation of disk space, as the user will be in full control of how many days of CDRs are to be held on-line, and will also provide disk usage statistics.

InterconnecT Version 6.0.5 powers ahead in exposing summarised and reference data to Oracle compliant SQL reporting tools. Through creation of the InterconnecT Semantic Layer, data views are created and maintained by Intec Telecom Systems, insulating the end user from the complexities of the data model allowing them to create custom reports.

In addition to the existing SAP interface, a new feature, known as the InterconnecT SAP Solution (ISS), is now available as an optional additional module to InterconnecT Version 6.0.5. This enables customers who also use SAP to maximise their SAP investment to achieve a total interconnect billing solution and combine the functionality of both systems to provide a powerful event and non-event billing solution. SAP can then be used for invoice production, reconciliation payment tracking and all associated financial activities including handling tax. Version 6.0.5 also provides the user additional flexibility in permitting the modification or deletion of errored CDR’s using the new CDR Editor.

“This upgrade gives significant business benefits to customers in terms of ease of accessibility, ease of production and analysis of reports, management of disk space and integration with SAP’s financial system,” said Intec’s Managing Director, Kevin Adams. “As with all our upgrades, our customer research has enabled us to develop benefits ahead of user needs becoming pressing. We can help them not just be competitive, but to create competitive advantage over those telcos with less advanced interconnect billing solutions. Version 6.0.5 is a logical evolution of InterconnecT and is only a part of the product portfolio being built to encompass the business needs of dynamic telcos.”

“With Version 6.0.5, Intec Telecom Systems continues to deliver on its promise of a total focus on interconnect billing excellence,” said Intec’s Product Director, Alan Healey. “Our customers are discovering that faster, more accurate interconnect billing can improve both profits and cashflow from their network investment. In addition, by continually delivering new capabilities in the core rating and billing engine, as well as adding previously unavailable functions like the InterconnecT Semantic Layer, Automated Archive & Restore and CDR editor, we are saving them administrative time and allowing them to be more innovative and competitive in new products and services.”
