Logica chooses Intec Telecom Systems to provide inter-carrier telecoms billing software for worldwide marketing to global customer base

8th November 1999: Intec Telecom Systems, the world leader in intercarrier billing software, and leading computer consultancy Logica have announced a worldwide agreement to jointly sell and support InterconnecT1 in deregulated Internet, data and voice markets. Intec Telecom Systems expects the agreement with Logica to significantly increase its existing 100% year-on-year growth, by substantially enhancing market penetration in new, deregulated markets and its ability to service massive demand for billing solutions from the new wave of telecoms carriers.

As part of the worldwide co-operative marketing agreement, Logica will recommend, install and support Intec System’s InterconnecT to telecoms customers worldwide as its preferred solution for inter-carrier billing. Interconnect billing systems, which allow carriers to manage the cost of carrying each others’ calls, is becoming increasingly important as deregulation and globalisation increase the number of competitors, and carriers expand the number and complexity of their services. InterconnecT revenues often exceed 50% of a carrier’s income or costs, making fast, accurate billing a mission-critical process in sustaining profitability and good cash flow.

With over 200 telecommunications customers and revenues which contributed around 30 per cent of its US$1 billion revenue in 1998, Logica is a leading provider of solutions for telecommunications customer care and billing with customers including Hutchison Telecom, KPN Telecom and Belgacom.
