- Recruitment plan for 30 Asia-Pacific support, technical and sales staff
1st November 1999: Intec Telecom Systems, the worldwide market leader in interconnect settlement and billing solutions for telecoms operators, has established its Asia-Pacific region headquarters in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. Operational since 1st November, the office will support Intec’s fast-growing sales office infrastructure across the region, as well as bringing strong local customer support to its current customer base of major carriers.
InterconnecT™ is used by many of the world’s leading operators. In the Asia-Pacific region these include Hutchison, Optus and Powertel (based in Australia), VSNL of India and Hong Kong-based New World Telecom. Other operators across the region are showing strong interest in InterconnecT as a fast and accurate interconnect billing solution for a full range of fixed and mobile voice and data services. Intec knows that a local presence and technical team is needed to offer quality and timely support.
“We already have an Asia-Pacific customer base of major carriers, and with telecoms deregulation and the technical strength of InterconnecT as a solution, we are experiencing huge interest from both new and existing telcos,” said John Rocca, Operations Director (Asia/Pacific). “With a support office located in Malaysia, we are well placed geographically to serve our entire Asia-Pacific customer base. The availability of well-trained technical staff is also high in the region; an important factor in our plan to recruit at least another 30 skilled staff over the next 2 years,”
Kevin Adams, Managing Director of Intec Telecom Systems sees the global nature of his company’s growing customer base necessitating localised support functions; “Some 50 telecoms companies across Europe, Asia and the Americas have now installed InterconnecT – 30 of these signing with Intec in just the last 12 months. Providing quality, timely support to all of our clients is a key part of our customer relationship strategy and the rapid international growth of our customer base must be supported by regional customer support investments. We want operators in Asia-Pacific to know that we will not sell, install and then run away.”
