  • Confidence in market demand drives recruitment plan for 15 new staff in the region

16th December 1999: UK-based Intec Telecom Systems, the world-wide market leader in interconnect settlement and billing solutions, has established a Latin-America regional headquarters in San Paulo, Brazil. Operational since 1st November 1999, the office will support existing customers as well as provide sales, implementation and professional services to the region.
The Latin America operation will focus on Brazil and Mexico in particular, and will work in co-operation with Intec’s South American operation (Based in Argentina) which is handled via its partner Syscom Cipher in Argentina.
In Southern and Latin America operators already using InterconnecT include Telecom Argentina, Intelig – Brazil and Axtel - México. Many other operators across the region are showing strong interest in InterconnecT as a fast and accurate interconnect billing solution for a full range of fixed and mobile voice and data services. Intec Telecom Systems knows that a local presence and technical team is needed to offer quality implementations, local consultancy and timely support.
"Much of Latin America is only now entering full deregulation with particular activity in Brazil, Argentina and México, so the market is set to explode as it has in Europe. Already there are more than 40 operators in Brazil and the complexity of building and maintaining interconnect agreements is increasing rapidly. New solutions such as InterconnecT are a vital infrastructure investment, and we are experiencing a great deal of demand," said Fillipe Monteiro, Intec’s regional director.
"With a support office located in Brazil, and a truly multi-lingual, multi-currency product, we are well placed to serve the entire Latin-American customer base,” continued Monteiro. “The availability of well-trained technical staff is also critical in the region; an important factor in our plan to recruit at least another 15 skilled staff over the next 2 years."

Kevin Adams, Managing Director of Intec Telecom Systems sees the global nature of his company's customer base necessitating local relathionships and support; "Over 50 telecoms companies across Europe, Asia and the Americas have now installed InterconnecT - 30 of these signing with Intec in just the last 12 months. Providing quality and timely support to all of our clients is a key part of our customer relationship strategy and the rapid international growth of our customer base must be supported by regional customer support investments."
