  • Intec Professional Services Group targets higher business returns from interconnect operations
  • Education, Business Process, Technical Services and Business Management divisions launched

4th November 1999: Intec Telecom Systems, the world-wide market leader in interconnect settlement and billing solutions has launched a professional services arm. Effective interconnect billing operations are essential to any telco, improving profit margins and network revenues, reducing contractual disputes, and maximising the opportunity for information-driven processes like margin analysis and least-cost routing. By utilising the expertise of Intec System’s Professional Services Group operators can improve competitive performance through innovative use of interconnect information and operations.

Intec has signed over 50 major telco customers for its InterconnecT solution and as the market becomes more sophisticated the demands from telcos increase. The Professional Services Group has been driven by the demands of interconnect operations and underlines the value Intec Professional Services Group can deliver, particularly alongside Intec’s market leading product, InterconnecT.

Intec Professional Services Group comprises four divisions:

  • Educational Division – training customers to use interconnect as both a billing solution and a competitive tool for tasks like margin analysis
  • Business Process Division – Running business process ‘best practice’ health checks, process management improvement and interconnect business start-up services
  • Technical Services Division – offering formal assistance in defining optimal technical architectures and in configuring InterconnecT for maximum performance, accuracy and reliability (including skills transfer to customer staff)
  • Business Management Division – Maximising interconnect benefits by guiding interconnect agreement negotiation processes, efficient rules and procedures, reference data modelling, reconciliation health checks, billing audits and more

“Interconnect revenues often exceed 50% of a carrier’s income or costs, making fast, accurate billing a mission-critical process in sustaining profitability and good cash flow,” said Chris Cadman, Customer Services Director at Intec Telecom Systems who is responsible for Intec Professional Services Group. “But there are additional benefits available if you see your interconnect billing as a contributor to business competitiveness and not just a cost centre. InterconnecT is a powerful product that can do a lot more than just rate and bill interconnect charges. The Intec Professional Services Group can maximise the business benefit from interconnect operations by showing customers how to set up and run their systems as business tools. The expertise of the Group has been built up over multiple projects across many telcos and is guided by a proven-methods approach.”

Offered through the company’s existing global network of offices, the Intec Professional Services Group, consisting of four service and consultancy divisions, will be accessible to Intec’s entire global customer base for InterconnecT™.

Kevin Adams, MD of Intec Telecom Systems said; “Intec Telecom Systems makes interconnect settlement a key business tool for telecoms operators world-wide. As well as InterconnecT, we now provide a full range of Professional Services complimenting our Partners, that help customers get more value from their investment."
