- New Polish operation combines local market expertise with Intec’s world-class technology
- Fast expanding market and new services drive demand for improved billing capabilities
UK-based Intec Telecom Systems, the worldwide market leader in interconnect settlement and billing software, has opened a sales and support office in Poland, bringing Intec’s InterconnecT product to Central & Eastern European telecoms operators. The combination of InterconnecT, widely-regarded as the most powerful and functional solution available today, and the local telecoms sector expertise recruited by Intec Telecom Systems, offers Polish carriers the ability to implement fast and accurate interconnect billing across a full range of traditional fixed and mobile voice and data services.
Intec Telecom Systems will market and support InterconnecT in Poland, providing both new and existing operators with access to an interconnect billing system designed to allow them to take advantage of the rapidly-expanding East European telecoms market. InterconnecT, which is widely used by some of Europe’s best-known operators, including France Telecom, Telecom Italia and Swisscom, has been designed for fully internationalised operation, including local language support, multi-currency billing, and Euro-compliance. “Interconnect billing is vital to operators that want to maximise the profitability of their networks,” said Krzysztof Wcislo, Managing Director of Intec Solution Polska, a country office of Intec Telecom Systems. “Interconnect bills can be up to 50% of an operators costs, and as much as 90% of their income, so billing speed and accuracy are vital to cashflow and profit margins. But interconnect is becoming a much more complex subject, and many European carriers are implementing specialist solutions like Intec’s InterconnecT to ensure they can compete in new markets, and generate and audit interconnect bills properly. Choosing InterconnecT means they will not be locked into the cost and complexity of an in-house solution. They will also have available from Intec Telecom Systems strong local expertise within the Central European market, to help them implement InterconnecT quickly in their own situations.”
The latest version of InterconnecT, Version 6, features a number of enhancements that will be particularly relevant to Polish operators, including multiple language support, automatic reconciliation between carriers, scalability from the smallest to the largest networks, support for ITU-based settlement and many others. The flexibility of InterconnecT in handling many different types of products and interconnect agreements is also vital in a fast-developing market like Poland. “InterconnecT is the solution of choice for new European operators like Connect Austria and diAx, and we expect it to be very successful in Poland, because the market here is developing rapidly,” says Kevin Adams, Managing Director Intec Telecom Systems. “The ability of carriers to take advantage of the dynamism in the market depends heavily on their ability to implement information systems that support the business agreements they want to make, and on their ability to bill and audit interconnect charges to maximise revenues.”
