2007 Press Releases

  • Substantial investment sees local staff recruited to work alongside international billing experts

London/Warsaw, 27 February 2007: Intec, a global provider of business and operations support systems (BSS/OSS) for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks, is consolidating its position in Poland with the opening of prestigious new offices located at Rzymowskiego 53 Street in Mokotow, the capital’s newest business district. The office is already operational, with local billing specialists having been hired to work alongside members of Intec’s international professional services team. The office will support the roll out of Polkomtel’s new convergent billing system (announced on 1 December 2006), as well as Intec’s other Poland and CEE-based clients, including PTC Era GSM, TPSA, and Exatel.

Iwona Golinska has been appointed the Representative and Managing Director of Intec Poland. Iwona has years of experience in the telecoms industry working for multinational companies such as Ericsson, Ericsson Hewlett Packard, Kenan Systems and Cabletron. “The main purpose of our presence in Poland is to serve Polkomtel (we are located only a 5 minute walk from the Polkomtel office) and other customers of Intec in Poland. Our aim is to ensure a seamless deployment of our technology, and to transfer knowledge and competence in our convergent billing software to our Polish customers and local partners. In the future we would like to create a billing competence centre serving customers in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Intec is a global player in OSS/BSS that established a presence in Poland early in its development, winning national operator TPSA as a customer in 1999 - and TPSA still remains a customer today. The new office in Poland gives Intec significant business mass in the region and allows it to build on its locally-based knowledge and expertise, offering capabilities and local services that will help it win further business as it invests in this dynamic region. Intec currently has over 25 key operator customers in the CEE region including Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, Lietuvas Telekomas in Lithuania, Lattelekom in Latvia, and Matav in Hungary.

With ongoing deregulation and market growth in the telecoms industry, and its recent EU membership, Poland remains one of the most attractive markets for Intec in Central & Eastern Europe. Additionally the country has relatively low labour costs and a multilingual and highly skilled technical workforce that allow Intec to be highly competitive in providing its customers with sophisticated professional services.
