- Service provider combats leakage at its source with Intec OSS products and services
London/Atlanta, 13 September 2005 – Intec, a leading BSS/OSS software vendor for fixed, mobile and next-generation networks, announced today the selection and implementation of its InterconnecT CABS CG™ and InterconnecT Prep™ solutions by US-based Trinsic, a nationwide local phone service provider. The service bureau contract, signed earlier in 2005, has a seven figure value over the course of its three year term.
The Intec solutions replace both Trinsic’s existing CABS usage processing system and the outsourced CABS services from another vendor. Following an internal analysis, Trinsic had identified these as potential sources of revenue leakage. The ability to accurately capture network usage and bill back carrier access charges correctly is fundamental to assuring revenue for local service providers. The potential business intelligence inherent within the CABS usage data provides valuable insights into usage and carrier trends.
Jill Basler, manager of Trinsic’s Carrier Access Billing group, said, “Intec provides a carrier-grade CABS solution backed by decades of telecom experience. Not only does the Intec CABS solution give us access to more than 75 standard reports, we also have the ability to create custom reports as needed. That was a huge plus not provided by our previous vendor.”
InterconnecT Prep, based on Intec’s market-leading mediation solution, acts as a front-end to InterconnecT CABS CG, collecting the raw network usage data (IP, mobile, and fixed services), filtering and cleaning up received data, validating it against pre-defined business rules, and reformatting it for CABS processing. Its complete audit trail guarantees the reconciliation of records received with the records rejected and the records passed through to InterconnecT CABS CG.
“This agreement with Trinsic reinforces the importance of accurate, cost-effective CABS billing and collection as a significant part of a carrier’s revenue,” said Fred Brott, President of Intec North America. “It also underscores the value of robust OSS/BSS solutions to a carrier’s revenue assurance strategy.”
More than 110 operators rely on Intec’s CABS solution to maximize their results in collecting earned revenues. InterconnecT CABS CG’s ease of use, modern architecture, revenue assurance, and top-notch reporting capabilities provide the carrier-grade functionality operators of all sizes expect to fully capitalize on their network usage.
