US telecom



The United States Telecom Association is the nation's oldest and most influential trade association of its kind. For more than a century, USTelecom has represented the interests of service providers in the dynamic telecommunications industry. From its inception, USTelecom has personified the entrepreneurial spirit of the telecom industry. The evolution of USTelecom as an industry force parallels the evolution of the telephone industry itself.

With the new century, USTelecom completed an ambitious restructuring with a business plan that unites a diverse industry to deliver influence in Washington. USTelecom remains committed to representing its members before the Congress, federal and state regulators, the courts and the media, working to deliver significant victories for the telecommunications industry.

GSM Association


Founded in 1987, GSMA is a global trade association representing over 700 GSM mobile phone operators across 218 countries of the world. In addition, more than 200 manufacturers and suppliers support the Association’s initiatives as associate members.

The primary goals of the GSMA are to ensure mobile phones and wireless services work globally and are easily accessible, enhancing their value to individual customers and national economies, while supporting a competitive environment, creating new business opportunities for operators and their suppliers. The Association's members serve more than 2 billion customers – over 82% of the world's mobile phone users.

OPASTCO

OPASTCO is a national trade association representing more than 550 small, independently owned local exchange carriers (LECs) and their affiliate telecommunications companies.

Primarily serving rural areas of the United States and Canada, these commercial telephone companies and cooperatives range in size from fewer than 100 to as many as 100,000 access lines and collectively serve more than 2.5 million customers.

OPASTCO has been a part of the independent telephone company success story for the past 40 years. OPASTCO provides a voice for its members to legislators, regulators and courts. Educational programs and conventions foster a sharing of knowledge and expertise among the members. OPASTCO's publications keep members informed of critical issues that affect their futures. The association also has a nonprofit foundation, the Foundation for Rural Education and Development.

CTIA


CTIA is an international organization representing all sectors of wireless communications – cellular, personal communication services and enhanced specialized mobile radio. As a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1984, we represent service providers, manufacturers, wireless data and Internet companies and other contributors to the wireless universe.

NTCA


NTCA is a full-service association, offering a wide array of member services, including a highly effective government affairs program; expert legal and industry representation; a broad range of educational services; a comprehensive assortment of regular and special publications and public relations programs; and a well-rounded complement of national and regional meetings.

NTCA has 567 member telcos: 258 cooperatives and 309 locally owned and controlled commercial companies. In addition, the association has 409 associate member suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and other companies providing financial, legal, engineering, accounting, billing, and other essential services to rural telephone systems, 108 subsidiary members, and 8 international members include telcos in Canada and Palau (a South Pacific island). 61 statewide and regional telephone associations bring NTCA's total membership to 1,153.

ATIS


ATIS is a United States based body committed to rapidly developing and promoting technical and operations standards for the communications and related information technologies industry worldwide using a pragmatic, flexible and open approach. Its standardization activities for wireless and wireline networks include interconnection standards, number portability, improved data transmission, Internet telephony, toll-free access, telecom fraud, and order and billing issues, among others. ATIS is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The ATIS-sponsored Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF) provides a forum for customers and providers in the telecommunications industry to identify, discuss, and resolve national issues which affect ordering, billing, provisioning and exchange of information about access services, other connectivity and related matters.

SCTE


The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) is a non-profit professional association dedicated to serving the industry through excellence in professional development, information, and standards. Since 1969, SCTE has continually expanded its resources and services to meet the changing needs of its members in a rapidly evolving industry. SCTE offers a variety of programs and services for the industry's educational benefit. More than 15,000 CTOs, engineers, system operations managers, technicians, and field operations personnel from the U.S. and 70 countries worldwide depend upon SCTE.

ETIS is a membership based organisation which brings together the major telecommunications providers in Europe on key information and communication technology issues. The mission of ETIS is to enable its members to improve their business performance by personal exchange of information on using ICT effectively.
